Bylaw Regulations of Note

Rules Regulating the Use, Care, and Maintenance of Building Sites

·         A member may cut down a tree on his assigned site, at his own cost, without approval from the Board of Directors.  The cutting of any other tree requires board approval.  The board has the power to order the removal of a hazardous tree.  Cutting brush to improve sight distance along the roads is permissible.

·         One single-family residence may be erected on each site.  Small outbuildings are permitted.  The Board of Directors shall approve the plans for all construction on building sites.

·         The rules for renters of cottages are contained in the Renter’s Agreement Form, Appendix VI.B.

·         “For sale” signs for a membership unit may be erected only on its building site.

Rules Regulating the Use of Common Property and Shared Facilities

·         Climbing on the frontal dune is prohibited.  Persons desiring to go to and from the beach must use stairs or the ramp.  .

·         Operators of vehicles shall limit their speed to no more than 10 miles per hour. 

·         Dogs are not permitted at annual meetings.

·         Overnight sleeping is not allowed in the lodge except in extreme weather conditions.  The last person leaving the lodge should turn out the lights and close the doors.

·         There shall be no parking on the roadways.

·         Noise should be kept to a minimum after midnight.

·         Dogs do not need to be on a leash; however, the handler shall exercise special consideration to small children and persons sensitive to dogs.

·         The dumpster, located on the west side of the entryway, is for household trash only, not for building materials, furniture or large pieces of junk.

·         Four hours of community work is required each year from each membership unit.  A report of these hours must be given to the treasurer.  A membership unit that does not do the work must pay of $12.50 per hour.
